The cultural and historical capital of Valsesia

As a nodal center of Valsesia, of which it is the cultural and historical capital, Varallo is an indispensable stop on the tour of Valsesia and a favored spot for understanding the valsessian soul, often destined to culminate in passion and often unquenchable love. This is fed by various realities, many of which have remote origins, such as the Sacro Monte, the oldest and most artistic among those in Piedmont and Lombardy, steeped in a history that features great personalities, creators and promoters over the centuries of that well-known Varallo culture, still and always naturally expressed in the many expressions of modern life. It is impossible not to mention the steepest cable car in Europe that reaches it.
Also worthy of mention are the city museums, starting from the Palazzo dei Musei which houses the Pinacoteca and the Museo Calderini inside, not to mention the small museums that, in turn, give a piece of history and curiosity about Valsesia.
This makes Varallo that distinguished place that everyone recognizes, even just after a brief initial visit.
Varallo deeply engages the visitor's interests with its monumental and heritage richness, the originality of the surrounding environment, and its undoubtedly favored location at the center of a wide green basin, bordered by the waters of the Sesia and Mastallone
In Varallo, the “measure of man” has never been lost sight of, both in respecting the environment in which the town is situated and in the always moderate architectural expressions that have preserved the features of its original expansion, maintaining neighborhoods and quarters from a past that provides harmony and style to the whole town.
