The Colle is the gateway to the neighboring Aosta Valley, but also an important connection with the Cervo Valley in Biella and the Val Vogna.
The route is easy until the C.A.I. Rest Point at Alpe Toso, becoming challenging in the subsequent stretch due to its length and total elevation gain.
From the village of Rassa, follow the steep road to the left of the parking lot until reaching the mule track near Alpe Crosetti at Cottura (1055 m), continuing through various mountain pastures: Campello (1099 m), Alpe Sorba (1151 m), after which you come to the Ponte di Prabella, which can be ignored, Alpe il Dosso (1395 m), Alpe Toso (1649 m), where you can also find a hut designated as a resting point, Alpe Lamaccia (1896 m) and the Alpe del Prato (2198 m).
From the plain of Alpe Prato, several itineraries branch off: 251c for Vallone dell'Artorto and 269 for Bocchetta di Niel, just beyond 265 for Passo della Gronda. The main route continues westward between large boulders and debris cones, zig-zagging through the wide valley, reaching the Colle del Loo at 2452 m.
