Snowboarding for everyone, from the slopes to off-piste
Alagna is a landmark for snowboard enthusiasts, both in fresh snow (so much so that it can boast the name Freeride Paradise) and on the beautiful slopes of the valley. This area enjoys an extraordinary microclimate determined by favorable sun exposure and the absence of wind, elements that allow for the preservation of the snow cover and guarantee one of the most beautiful experiences in the entire Alpine arc, enriched by the extraordinary panorama of Monte Rosa.

The connection, with board at your feet, to the Ayas Valley and the Gressoney Valley, in the Monterosa Ski area, is one of the advantages that the facilities of Alagna and Valsesia offer. The wonderful valleys and peaks, the functionality of the ski lifts, and the hospitality of the accommodations are just some of the reasons that have always made Valsesia one of the most sought-after destinations for skiers.
The facilities in Alagna consist of seven (1 cable car, 2 chair lifts, 1 ski lift, 1 gondola, and 2 conveyor belts) with an altitude ranging from 1,212 meters to 3,260 meters of the Indren glacier. From here, you can admire the wonderful panorama of the Sesia and Gressoney valleys, and on clearer days, the lakes of the Po Valley and the entire Alpine chain are perfectly visible. Through the Cimalegna Salati four-seater chairlift, it is possible to access the lifts of Monterosa Ski, which for years have been the pride of one of the largest ski areas in Europe, connecting three valleys: Alagna and Valsesia, the Gressoney Valley, and the Ayas Valley. Alternatively, just a few minutes from the center of Alagna, you can find the small ski area Wold, in the Merletti fraction of Alagna: it is a small ski resort ideal for learning to ski in a fun way. It consists of two slopes served by a ski lift, and it is also possible to rely on snowboard instructors. Fun is guaranteed even for non-skiers who can enjoy sledding.
Safety in the Mountains
Experiencing the mountains requires caution, preparation, and experience. No activity, even the easiest one, should be taken for granted or improvised.
