At the foot of Alpe di Mera

Located in the center of an open and panoramic basin, the plain of Scopello has always enjoyed an ideal position, so much so that in the past it was a market place among the towns of the upper valley, predominantly for pastoral activities.
The village has experienced a strong tourist increase over time, thanks also to the good skiing network available on the nearby Mera, a mountain that offers wide views and strong alpine emotions.
Here, in addition to skiing, different activities can be practiced, including trekking and mountain biking. The place is also favorable and welcoming for families looking for activities for children.
A good and hospitable tourist destination for all seasons
In the center of the village of Scopello stands the majestic Parrocchiale di Maria Assunta, built in the 16th century, certainly erected on a pre-existing ancient place of worship; architecturally interesting, it preserves exquisite works of art and craftsmanship, such as the finely carved wooden choir, pulpit, confessionals, and stalls of the chapels, crafted by unknown local artists and artisans, all belonging to excellent schools.
The Sesia dominates the environment with significant development, more unique than rare, making it the venue for the 2002 World Canoe and Kayak Championships.
