In the forest between Alagna and Riva Valdobbia meanders a wonderful ring of over 10 km. The trail, which runs alongside the Sesia River, is extremely picturesque, and skiers can enjoy panoramic views of Monte Rosa while traversing it.
Carcoforo, Kirchof in Walser dialect, is a charming village located at 1,304 meters above sea level in Val d’Egua, a side valley of Valsesia. From December to March, there are 7 km of slopes of various difficulties available for cross-country skiing, which are situated between the village and sunny snow fields interspersed with rare larches, suitable even for beginners and homologated for national competitions.
Safety in the mountains
Experiencing and living the mountains requires caution, preparation, and experience. No activity, even the easiest one, should be taken for granted or improvised.
