Rafting descents take place on the most spectacular stretches of the Sesia and guarantee adventure, spectacle, and emotions. One of the most intense stretches of the river is from Piode to Scopa.
The descent of this stretch of river is reserved for experts: after a particularly exciting start downstream of the waterfall visible from the Piode bridge, the Sesia tumbles downstream vigorously, showing its most torrent-like and rebellious character. The rapids are strong and often blocked by boulders that require precise maneuvers.
The most challenging part of the descent comes towards the end, near the village of Scopello, with a very sporty rapid at the road bridge. After Scopello, the riverbed widens and the difficulties seem to decrease, but the rapids follow one after another, and it's important not to lose concentration until the arrival point, the iron footbridge of Scopa.
