The position of Quarona benefits from a gentle mountainous surroundings dominated by San Grato and Tucri, where the plateau stands out, easily reachable from the center, on which the Church of San Giovanni al Monte is located, considered one of the oldest in all of Piedmont and Valsesia, dating back to 1398; a treasure for Valsesian art, with pictorial contents from different eras and an important triptych by Lanino; the view of the village and its surroundings is enchanting from up there.
The Church of San Giovanni al Monte is considered one of the oldest in the Valley and Piedmont
Also remarkable is the Santuario della Beata Panacea at Piano, with paintings by Peracino, built in memory of the martyrdom of Panacea, for whom the people of Quarona have deep veneration.
Indeed, the artistic inspirations of Quarona do not end here: at least the beautiful, precious 17th-century parish of San Antonio should be mentioned, elegant in its architecture, which is guarded by a slender contemporary baptistery; inside, spacious yet cozy, works of art, furnishings, and precious sculptures, including a wonderful panel by the Gaudenzian school.
