Luoghi, attività e idee per vivere la Valsesia.
At halfway of the Val Grande
The small village of Pila is located under the nearby Monte Castello and, across the Sesia, the Alpe Lagone.
The village has Saint Peter as its patron saint, to whom a beautiful, ancient church dedicated, dating back to the 1400s, which preserves a beautiful altar with valuable wooden inlays.
To admire the medieval bridge that once served as the border between the French Empire and the Cisalpine Republic
Of artistic and cultural interest is also the church of Sant’Antonio and the oratory of Santa Caterina.
Not to be overlooked in the itinerary of these places halfway through Val Grande, the hamlet of Failungo, worth visiting for its constricted position, for the division into two parts, lower and upper, divided along the road axis where old but restored rural houses are scattered.
In Failungo, the 16th-century oratory of San Francesco d’Assisi deserves attention.
