City of wine on the Novara Hills, Maggiora is a village with a strong Antonellian imprint: the architect has left numerous works in this town such as Palazzo Antonelli, the birthplace, the cemetery, the scurolo of Sant'Agapito and the master plan, which saw the access roads to the square of the Parish of the Holy Spirit lowered to give the church the right prominence in the urban context.

A village with a strong Antonellian imprint

The palio of Maggiora is one of the main events of the town, it was born almost by chance in 1986, to renovate the premises of the nursery school, a classic charity fair was thought of and, to attract people, popular games were organized by dividing the town into four districts: Cascine, Cavaiasca, Malviraa, and Valeggia. In the years to come, the courtyard of the kindergarten became the beating heart of the summers in Maggiora.

The barrel race was born later, in 1989, with the aim of concluding the event and giving it more spectacle.

Other important events in Maggiora are motocross and autocross races and more at the Maggiora Park.
