Museum
Gipsoteca Casimiro Debiaggi

The Gipsoteca in Doccio houses a collection of over seventy preparatory plaster casts made for the final execution of as many sculptures in marble or bronze, all works by the sculptor Casimiro Debiaggi, who was active between the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Born in Doccio, during his long career Debiaggi portrayed prominent figures from the world of culture, politics, and the arts, as well as religious personalities and members of the high Savoyard aristocracy, creating busts, medallions, and full-figure statues.

The rooms also display models of monuments designed and carved by him, now to be found in various locations throughout Italy.

The visit allows guests to appreciate the techniques used to transfer a three-dimensional image from the preparatory plaster to the final marble or bronze sculpture.

The museum is enriched with captions that provide information and interesting facts about each work, allowing visitors to easily gain a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of this art.
