Ski mountaineering to discover little-traveled routes
Colle del Vallè is one of the passes connecting Val Sermenza and Valle Anzasca, yet it is rarely used because the easier and more practical Colle del Piccolo Altare is preferred. The views and places, however, are similar, as well as the emotions of venturing with skis and skins into valleys that would otherwise remain inaccessible in the cold season.

Rima (1,411m)
Colle del Vallè (2,625 m)
about 1200 meters
From a ski mountaineering perspective, given the low starting altitude, the south-facing exposure, and the presence of steep and enclosed slopes, the avalanche risk, especially after heavy snowfalls, is high. The trip requires well-settled snow and a fair amount of attention. From the pass, there is a sensational view of the Pizzo Bianco.
Departure from Rima following itinerary 291 towards the Vallè refuge. Be careful of the frequent avalanche debris to gain the evident rock bastion on the right and then reach the refuge. Leave the refuge on the left and continue to Colle del Vallè, crossing gentler slopes until the final ramp, which easily leads to the summit from which an amazing view rewards all the effort made. The return takes place on the same ascent path or by descending the right side, which faces steeper slopes but is usually free of avalanches.
Mountain Safety
Experiencing and living in the mountains requires caution, preparation, and experience. No activity, even the easiest one, should be taken for granted or improvised.
