A Sanctuary in the midst of the DOC wine hills

Boca is a small quiet village in the province of Novara, set against the background of vineyards or wooded hills, behind which some peaks of the Prealps and Alps can be glimpsed.
Its fame has crossed the borders of the province, not only for its fine DOC wine, but also thanks to the monumental Sanctuary of the Most Holy Crucifix, a renowned work by the architect Antonelli, and its long history deserves to be known. Throughout the year, especially from May to September, the sacred place is visited by thousands of pilgrims, who come from far away.

The center of the municipality, which once clustered around the little church of San Gaudenzio, one of the oldest in the area, is now more extensive and has several hamlets: Cascina Bell'Aria, Baraggia, Piano Rosa, Borzighella, Ronchetto, Marello Fuino, Santuario, and Montalbano, the oldest one, where part of the ancient 15th-century castle is preserved, featuring a cycle of frescoes depicting scenes of chivalric life.
