Borgosesia is the capital of Lower Valsesia and with its historic Carnival halts city life and immerses it in a riot of floats, traditional rites, and allegories. It is this lowland area of the Sesia that has been the cradle of Valsesian consciousness, which the inhabitants of the mountain areas at the foot of the Rosa spontaneously and solidly embraced.
Every town in the valley bottom has its own peculiarities that deserve to be discovered at a slower pace compared to the experiences of the high valley: the "lower" and then the areas of Valsessera, bordering not only in territory but in aspirations and in the pre-Alpine spirit, are the gateway to understanding not only style and character but also the environment and opportunities that, on a larger scale and in a wider manner, await higher up in the territory.
