The ski lifts on the Valsesiano side of the Monterosa Ski Area are seven: one cable car, one gondola, two chairlifts, two conveyor belts, and one ski lift, covering an altitude ranging from 1212 to 3275 m of the Indren glacier.
From here, or from the nearest Passo dei Salati, a connection point via lifts to the Aosta Valley, the view stretches across the valleys of Sesia and Gressoney, all the way to the Po Valley, the alpine range, and the nearby lakes on the clearest days.
As the Piedmontese gateway to the Monterosa Ski area, Alagna provides access to one of the largest ski networks in Europe, connecting Alagna, Gressoney, and Champoluc.
The grooming of the slopes and the rescue service are a hallmark of the area, ensuring an experience that is not only exciting but also safe. The small lodges along the slopes offer excellent hospitality, allowing you to relax and enjoy local cuisine between descents.
For newcomers to skiing, the Wold ski area, in the Merletti fraction, is perfect.
With a well-equipped school camp overseen by instructors from the Alagna Ski & Snowboard School, and an area dedicated to sledding, Wold is the ideal place to learn while having fun, in a safe and welcoming environment. The heart of the area consists of a blue slope and a red one with their own fun variations, served by a ski lift.
The Wold bar restaurant by the slope, accessible also to pedestrians, allows you to relax with a good hot chocolate or some specialties on the sunny terrace.
For opening times of the lifts, rates, ski pass purchases, and information on the status of the slopes, consult the Monterosa Ski website.
